INSTAGRAM'S NEW LOGO: The meaning behind the change

By Adglow

Instagram announced yesterday the new look of its logo, which is now much more colorful and modern. According to the platform, this new image wants to reflect the "vibrant and diverse" community of users who use day after day the application.

The new version of the logo is inspired by the old logo but the camera simplifies and modernizes. It keeps the rainbow colors that were present in the old image . The network, owned by Facebook, wants to leave behind the image of being a simple "photographs application."

For the first time in five years, Instagram changes its logo and the main reason is, according to the company, which over the years its platform has grown from a mere space to edit and share pictures to a wide community, varied and very strong.

"The Instagram community has evolved over the last five years from a place to share filtered photos to so much more—a global community of interests sharing more than 80 million photos and videos every day. Our updated look reflects how vibrant and diverse your storytelling has become."

We say goodbye to the retro camera:

And we say hello to the new more modern, simple and colorful logo:

"The color has always been an important element in Instagram: is part of the classic icon of the application, filters, and photos and videos of the community. When we begin to reimagine the rainbow look more minimalist options. Finally, we realized we needed more warmth and energy to complete the design".
