Shopping Coming to Instagram

Instagram begins the path to becoming a new mobile e-commerce platform. The company, owned by Facebook, is testing a new feature in random iOS users who will be able to use and test a new feature that enhances the shopping experience in the application that will involve some 20 US companies.

Mobiles have changed the way people buy. Nowadays it is normal to look for products while we eat, shop on the way to work and compare prices online when we are in a physical store. Therefore, Facebook is testing a new functionality in Instagram which will give information about the product to the consumer without leaving the platform.

Basically, it will be to use Instagram's discovery possibilities to make it easier for users to buy products that they find interesting in the publications they see.

The chosen users will see a white icon available in the bottom left of those images in which a purchase can be made. Just press it to see the label with up to five products available in the image as well as their prices. For more information, simply press the label of the product you are interested in.

In case the users want to go ahead with the purchase of the product, from the information page itself, they can click on the link that will allow them to make the purchase through the brand website.
